In a general point of view, each note may be considered
as divisible of being in fact intend contrived
for the purpose of being occasionally eventually divided of into
two parts: an. viz: the Upper part as Head Piece: as and the
Tail piece or Body piece: which division is appears
accordingly made to apply to the Back part as well as to the Front
part of the Note.
Of this divisibility the principal use is, the affording
the means of security by lodging the two parts
when divided, in the custody of two different hands,
one or both of them in the character of a trustee, or
in different places in the custody of the same hand,
as also in case of conveyance by post or otherwise.
The idea is copied from the position form that has been
observed of late years has (with a view principally
if not exclusively to the case of conveyance) been
given to Bank Notes, as explained in the advertisements
that have been frequently published on theto that
effect subject in the Newspapers. See farther in Note [ ].

Another use is the adding to the securities against
forgery, by affording duplicates of the most material of the numbers in
operation one in figures, the other in words at length.
A third use is s — the presenting the same matter
in two different forms with a view for different purposes: — an
abbreviated form, for quickness of apprehension, and for
dispatch in the way of circulation: and a detailed
form at full length for the purpose of precision certainty and
fullness of explanation.

points of collateral information, which being not being
of the essence of the engagement conveyd expressed by the
instruments but designed only for the further satisfaction of persons
interested, [+] [+] not to mention their being implicitly included in the others
stand not in need either of repetition or development: I mean the intimations given of the yearly amount
of the interest, and of the rate of interest.
