Why at the Penny Post Offices? — business of such Why
not at the Annuity Office. proposed Principal Office in Westminster The Office already
characterised by the name of the Annuity Note Office?
especially as Exchequer Bills are at present passed
at the Office which is meant by that name, and which accordingly
is at present known by the name of the Exchequer
Bill Office? — Answer. The reasons
for allot s making a division of the business — and
allot reserving what may be termed the wholesale
branch of it for the Principal Office in Westminster — and
distributing what may be termed the Retail branch
among a multitude of small offices, distributed scattered
with tolerable equality over the surface of the district
will be given in the Section relative to the Mode
of payment.
