14 Annuity Notes

[25] [Register of Payments.] By this Table called the
[26] [Yearly Augmentation Table] Register of Payments, two purposes are answered.
One is, the indicating to the Officers of Government
in the instance of each Note, how many years if
any, they have to pay: — the other is — to serve as form a
basis for
the basis of the Yearly herein after mentioned Augmentation Table, and
along with it to shew the encrease of value it
has received from age, by longevity coupled with the forbearance non-
payment of the interest Dividend
One with a view to payment,
One for the purpose of payment, the other with a view
to circulation.

If the Note be a fresh one — not old enough
to have had any payment made upon it, the value of
it is thus by means of the Daily Augmentation
Table, ascertained by simple inspection; if it be
an old Note, old enough to have had payments
made upon it, but upon which there of which the
payment has been forborne, for one or more years,
the arithmetical process of addition will be require
to be called in: but by means of the Yearly Augmentation
Table whatever may be the number of
years remaining to be received, one addition no more
additions than one will be required.

Forty being the number of spaces left provided in the
Register, and the same being the utmost greatest number
of years of which the product is given in the Yearly
Augmentation Table, when this number of years is
run out, or a little before, the exchange the old
Note for a new one will have become necessary: but
for this operation, we have provision is made, as both
seen above in the Emendation No [ ]. . In making this
exchange,
