and on the supposition of our ingelman in this respect
on the part of Government be considerably greater:
inasmuch as a profit to the amount of 3 per cent
per annum will thus accrue in respect of every
penny of money thus received and kept in the
shape of Annuity Note paper, and no profit at
all in respect of any whatever quantity may come to be
received and kept in the shape of cash.
2. As to the second of the above three branches
of profit, it will rest with Government & whether
to take it into its own hands, or to leave it in the
hands of the receiver in this or that proportion,
and for this or that length of time according to
circumstances. Whatever sum In whatever length of time it may
be deemed necessary to have a given sum in the hands of
the Receiver for any length of time, whether as a
fund for the answering of contingent demands or
otherwise, that sum the Receiver of the profit
in the sum of interest is to be his, will be here
of as so much of it as is not already
in the shape of Annuity Note Paper to suit carry it
