Annuity Notes

To prevent disputes about priority, and to
save Bill holders from being made to wait purposely
kept waiting by an hostile Postmaster out
of spite, each the notices might be numbered in
the order in which they were applied for, and
the same number entered marked upon the Bill Receipt (Receipt
given for the Bill) If then the Holder of the
Receipt marked No 1 and the Holder of the Receipt
marked No 2 happened to apply at the
Post Office for to receive back their respective notes
with the Dividends at the same time, the Holder
of No I would be the person intitled to be dispatched
first.

According to In the above plan of payment, there would
be an interval of time viz: that between the
signing the notice and the entering back
the Annuity Note with the Dividend) during
which the circulation of this species of paper
in its capacity of currency would be suspended:
