Intolerance Atheism

"It is not Atheism says the Atheist, but
Theism and more especially Christianity
that is adverse to happiness. It is so in
a double way: directly by the vain terrors apprehensions
it inspires of a state of unspeakable and
endless torture to which the greater part a great majority of
the species stand condemned and to which
of which majority no man alive can be sure
to cast an impartial
glance on history in
even on what is passing
before his eyes
that he is not one. That it is adverse to
morality no man can doubt who will suffer
himself to reflect: for how would religious wars
and persecutions & tyranny have existed had existence but for Theism
and its offspring Christianity? not to mention
the one useless privations which Christianity
is always represented as exacting by all
her votaries. The beneficial effects influence attributed
to Theism is all illusive: wherever it does
no mischief it does nothing. The cases in
which it appears is alledged to do be of something to be
of service are always those in which the it
acts in st alliance religious sanction with the two others; that
