Part 6. Occasions on which - modes in which - these declarations have been made

The person Supposed possessor of the qualification
in question an official
teacher of Jesus's
religion.

The sort of person, be it remembered, in on whose part instances
the existence of the qualification in question is
to be made considered as being manifest, is a teacher an official teacher
of the religion of Jesus.

Two occasions
of the exhibition
in question.

There are two occasions in each of which in
the instance of the sort of person here in question the
sort of exhibition here in question has been in use to be
made.

1. Admission to
The profession
profession or to some
or preparatory
condition.

One is: his admittance into to the liberty and right
of exercising this function: or to any preparatory state of or condition
which it has may have been rendered necessary for
him to pass through or into, antecedently to his admission
to it as above.

2. Exercise of
any one of his functions.

The other reason is — that of his exercising
this or that one of the duties or functions attached to this
same situation.

Correspondent to
difference of occasion
is do of modes

Correspondent to the difference between the two in respect of the occasion
is a differnce in respect of the mode

1. On admittance
mode is by writing
viz. subscription to
tenets under name
of articles.

1 In the Where the occasion is that of his admittance
as above, the mode or form in which the declaration
is expressed is that of writing. A form of words expressive
of the persuasion in question being having been prepared
viz laid before him: in which and in this expression
by writin some customary sign or token such as the
writing under it his name, gives intimation of his
assent and concurrence. The mode or form thus described
is termed subscription — subscription for example
to of such propositions following one another under the name of articles
