In some instances
the function had
no other object than
the giving expression
to such a declaration
Term this the
formal mode.
This has been called
a creed.

In some instances the function in question has consisted
in the bearing a part in a discourse or form
of words which has had no other object purpose than that
of giving no expression to a declaration of this sort.
In this case the mode in which the declaration of persuasion
is expressed or delivered may be termed the
formal mode. A declaration of persuasion expressed
and delivered in this formal mode has been distinguished
by the name of a creed.

2. Of Among all the
religious discourses
shown supra above
are few which do not
contain a more or less explicit
declaration of
credence. This
mode of declaration
may be called
informal. —

But among the several sorts of religious discourses
of which the modifications have above been
brought to view there are few, if any, in which a
declaration of opinion to some effect or other is not
in terms a manner more or less explicit, contained and
brought to view. A The mode in which the sort
of declaration in this latter case is expressed or conveyed may be termed
the informal mode

In some Churches
in particular under
the Church of England
in bothe modes of declaration, the
priest is accompanied
by his flock.

In some Churches, and in particular in the established
Church of England, in the otherwise the opinion professing discourse
whether it be in the formal or in any informal mode
the priest Minister or teacher is accompanied by his the congregation

In so far as this
junction has place
the effect of the
priest's part must

In so far as this junction and concomitancy has
place, to whatsoever effects are produced or productive
by the act thus performed by the Minister are to be will be
added the effects, productive by the part taken by these
