§.1. Abstract fitness
Part

You , who being of among the rulers of the established Church of
England call yourselves Christians, in lieu of subscription
to these your articles, will you accept of subscription
to articles composed altogether of the creeds so ascribed
to your Christ? Not you indeed: at any rate
not till after a course of repentance, of which as yet no
symptoms have been discernible. Then what is can more
what is the religion to which you adhere? — The religion
of nobody-knows-who — not the religion of him whom
you call your Christ.

Talk not of interpretation. — in In the mouth
of priestcraft, as in the mouth of lawyercraft — interpretation
