Dean
2. Vansittart
Indulgence
Evidence

13

A suppression of evidence has just been proved. But
from any such quarter at the Trea, by this or any other instance of suppression
of evidence when disclosure would be attended with
inconvenience let not any man be surprized. It
has been proved at length that upon the principle and
in the practice of Church of Englandism, where as often as the effect of evidence
would be to bring to light malpractices on the part of
its rulers evidence ought to be suppressed. In Throughout the
whole proceeding of the Report published of the proceeding
of the National Society — of the Society under the government
of the rulers of the Church — the day of the doctor has has been stands
suppressed. From In the practice of that Bishop-ruled
Society of which he is so useful a Member, Mr Vansittart
has learned the propriety and the lies which
seems to have learnt though assuredly he had
not have gone out of his own these Chambers to have learnt
it — the propriety and honesty of suppressing bubbling and inconvenient
dates. Of the documents not suppressed in this
paper of communication all but one two — no inconvenience
having been apprehended from the disclosure — present the
day of the date. Mr The off These two are the two
Memorials presented by the Defendant to the Treasury
Board. Had When presented had they no dates is it true that day respectively. Then
indeed true it is that no dates then have been suppressed. But the
just inference is that they had dates in which case their
dates have been were suppressed. For if they had had so it was that no date
would not so extraordinary a deficiency have been noted?
or rather instead of being first connived at and then noted
would it not have been noted in the first instance and been sent
back
back to be supplied?
