In France the Deputies of the people subject many are nominated
by the Monarch openly: they are nominated by force.
In Britain they are nominated covertly then new transparent is is the covering. Oh what a
blessing — a real blessing
or if not nominated by
him bought by a mode of purchase which because
it is not bribery can not be punished is unpunishable. Oh what a
blessing it would be if instead of being nominated as here and
now by fraud the pretended deputies of the people —
stiled representatives because p not to have been
deputies — more as in France nominated by force.
Oh what a blessing it would be if all d of both
Houses no Members were being bought by unpublishable influence
as many as by possibility could be even
bought and sold by punishable bribery! There would be
impunity in name, purity in effect. What we hear
is purely in name, and in effect that can p
in which groundless wars and endless waste draining depen instead of fraud dependence, and the
vulgarly called
fract

ruin which is impending have their cause
