Among the properties of Chancellors of the Exchequer one is that
of detesting the thought of being turned out of their places.
Another is that of being disposed to do any thing by which
they regard themselves as to themselves any necessary additional
security against a catastrophe as detestable. A third is the
being disposed to regard with favour any person by in whose
conduct they view if a manner of themselves giving
means to whatsoever security they regard themselves as possessing
against so detestable a catastrophe.
