Self preference — vulgarly regarded as an exception to the
general rule, in fact the rule and the exception are
reversed.

than the light thrown
upon Codification by
its opponents
Nothing can happen more favourably
for this design than that it should have the benefit of the
light thrown upon the subject of Codification by
the opponents of it. Sincere altogether is this declaration
howsoever different may be the construction
by different persons put upon it.
