Humphreys

So as to Mr Humphreys.. My la My On the field in question
the labours of the author of these pages had been at one time fortunate enough to
meet the eye of the this learned Gentleman. who I had in consequence
the honor and pleasure of numbering among my friends. Lines in no small
quantity, blackened with the scrawl of the pen here occupying itself
had even found their way into his repositary that part
of his library into whic in which rubbish finds the receptacle
So likewise the article printed in the Westminster Review.

So i The labour I had employed in this endeavour to
engage the eye of the Right Honorable Secretaries for the Home
department to Mr Humphreys that the first editor of Mr Humphreys
valuable work ha sincere and energetic as it was but not
was not attended with the success at

Whitsun was the cause, between the first and
the second edition of this since Mr Humphreys a draft of a different
number from that which flew - learned pen, a
draught of from the Letter had found its way into
his mind. Who it was that by who on this occasion the office
of Mercury was performed, does not appear now constitute: suspensefully
upon one the common friend of both Mr Charles Butler
when for not little less than 60 years the author of these
pages has had the honour of numbering among his
friends. Mr Charles Butler for in a dedication to Mr
Humphreys, second edition figures stands his dedication to the
Law oracle of the English Roman Catholicks of England

With unfeigned satisfaction I have learned that the soporific
effect of the water has been no more than temporary
Besides the excellent publication the private information which
even now be more beneficially and usefully occupied has
brought to my case the pleasing gratifying truth.
