Seeing the inaptitude
of these composite appellatives
J. B. gave
Brithibernia which
presents no such idea
of repugnancy as British
and Irish. The signs
of the things signified

might have served as a cement.

Mindful of this inaptitude on the part of the composite appellative
thus employed, and not incapable of observing in
the [womb of the] logical imperfection disorder its political evil consequences,
Mr Bentham set his mind in the inquiry into
after a remedy, and the appellative Brithibernia was
