Ch.

Of contest, in consequence of the challenge, and
its consequences.

In case of contest
parties responsible for
challenge & for contest

Art. 1. In case of contest in consequence of a
challenge, the parties will be responsible as for
the challenge, as above, as also as for the contest.

From the instruments
employed, judgement
formed as to intention
of parties

Art. 2. From the instruments employed in the
contest, a judgement will be formed as to the
intention of the parties with reference to any such
afflictive effect as may have taken place: whether
for example, that or any other afflictive effect
had been taken as the exclusive object of the intention,
or whether the intention had for its indiscriminate
objects all such effects as are liable
to be produced by the use of weapons such
as those employed: for example, curable wound,
mutilation, disfigurement, disablement & death.
Such being the effects liable to be produced by a contest
which such arms as are ordinarily in use,
whether fire arms or cutting arms.

Compensation to be
awarded to the sufferer
at the charge of the
offended

Art.3. Regard being had to the pecuniary circumstances
of the parties on both sides, as Ch.
satisfaction, compensation will be awarded to
the sufferer that at the change of the offender, according
to the effect produced.

In case of Death
slayer's property
goes to slayee's representative
according proportioned
to whom slayee's representation

Art. 4. In case of death, the property of the slayer
will be allotted to the past abit representatives
of the slayee, regard being had to share who
waned be the natural past abit representative
of the slayer.
