Chrest. Tab.II 3 Genealogy indicating

What might perhaps be found to be the case is 7
If not too complicated

instructive

that among the propositions of which a system of mathematics
in this case (in the occasion have in question
it would be a system of Geometry) is composed, the
tissue of genealogical relations, as thus explained would be
too complicated to admitt of its being exhibited
in form of a Table to any advantage. But should
the be the case, it will hardly be doubted 8
By a
Table no great
part of the field
would be covered:
a number would
be necessary but
they might
all put together
ad libitum

that by the help of such an instrument, a much more commanding and satisfactory
view of the field of geometry might be
afforded than could be afforded otherwise.

Scarcely At any rate in the compass of a single Table couldthus constructed
any very considerable part of the field of Geometry
be exhibited. A number of such Tables standing 8 (a)

Note (a)

In the first Books of Euclids elements the sum
of being all that relates to plain Geo figures to the exclusion
of solids the sum of the propositions is 231.
This number might perhaps not be too great to be included conveniently
in one Table.

In one of the latest, and it is supposed upon the whole the
most instructive of the books professing to exhibit the Elements of uses. many of these had
their physical and
considerable uses. Witness
cylinders and
spheres and cylinders:

with measures, all occasions and ranges. Of this 21 no one is to be found in the Elementary work of Euclid every one perhaps is in some way or other descended from its contents
might not here be another occasion for marking the {+}

and thereby affording indication and demonstration
of the utility use of the venerable original.

Geometry in Books has for the subject and it title "The
Comparison of Solids. In this book the number of proposition
is 28. Bendes this several respective mathematical and preparative uses
