In this explanation referenceuse it is true, as could nor but be expected is made of
diagrams, for reference to which alphabetical letter of reference
are in the usual way employed: But consequently
neither the purely diagrammatic mode in any part nor the purely verbal
mode of expression, except here and there are or can be
employed. But to no inconsiderable extent upon the
whole, sometimes for 5 or 6 lines together the
purely verbal mode is employed.
