Of Principles adverse
Principle of Divergance Antipathy.
A false end is that which is dictated by the principle of
vengeance: this end is the satiating of our ren resentment
[without examining the grounds of it by the touchstone
of utility] on whatever score conceived.
Grounds of resentment 1. thwarting a man's task. Has the
ground even on offenses acts really mischievous reprobated by the principle of utility
2 dly Disinterested Sympathy for the Deity — for man Men of warm temper affections
