to submit to measures such regulations as by other considerations shall have
been determined to be proper. In short a word, what natural
Theology cannot furnish is a precept: what it may
furnish is a sanction.

What In like manner what in a political view revealed
Theology ought not to be consulted for, is a Precept;
what it may be consulted for is, the evidence of a
Sanction.

Revealed theology is that which proposes to teach what is
called the Revealed Law – the Law of Revelation.
Under The Law of Revelation⊞ ⊞among Christians in case is divided into two parts;
The one containing the Law given deliver'd by Moses: the other
containing the Law as it is called deliver'd by
Jesus and his Apostles.

The part of these, in the strict and proper sense of the
word Law was once a Law. It was a collection of specific commands regulations,
delivered to a certain people expressed in certain terms, affecting specific
objects, armed with specific penalties, which in practise point of fact were said visibly
and presently follows follow came consequent upon disobedience to the commands
to which they were annexed.

The latter is rather a system of moral rules than a Law
and rather a history of transactions from which moral rules
may be deduced, than either. The first in was the Statute
Law of the particular people called the Jews, the 2d is given as the Common Law
of all nations. As well, say according to the Articles of our Church
