Art. 8. If before the expiration of the date aforesaid his Majesty shall not have signified his pleasure with respect to the inlistment of such Prisoner, or after having signified his pleasure in the affirmative shall afterwards have countermanded the same by an order still remaining in force, the Prisoner shall be considered as standing engaged to serve in the Metasylum: and shall accordingly be delivered over aforesaid: and if no such officer be then and there attending for that purpose, it shall be concluded that his Majesty's pleasure is that the Prisoner shall not be permitted to inlist: and so with the respect to the service of the East India Company : [or if at any time previous to such day any one of the events should have happened on the happening of which it is hereinafter provided that such Guardianship shall cease.]

Art. 9. So also if a Person having justified as Friendly Guardian do not bu himself or his agent as aforesaid attend on such day as aforesaid or if in the mean time any one of the events shall have happened by which such Guardianship is on the ground of insufficiency on the part of such Guardian as aforesaid made determinable in manner herein after mentioned the Prisoner shall be deemed engaged in the Metasylum as aforesaid.

Art. 10. Provided that the Governor may at any time relinquish his right to the service of any such guardam Prisoner in the Metasylum either in favour of any Friendly Guardian, or in favour of the service of his Majesty or the East India Company as aforesaid.

Art. 11. Previously to such delivery of every Prisoner so inlisted as aforesaid, there shall on the part of the said Governor be given him (to serve him as an eventual protection against a charge of escape as herein after mentioned) a Certificate of Discharge and Inlistment: which said Certificate may be according to the Form marked [D]: and an exact copy thereof shall also be kept by the Governor at the said Penitentiary House.

Art. 12.

Post-liberation Options

8 Prisoner bound to the Metasylum, on the insufficiency or non-appearance of the Guardian -

9 - or on non-appearance of the ship's or Company's Officer -

10 Power to the Governor to relinquish his right in that behalf

11 Prisoner inlisting, to have a Certificate of Discharge & Inlistment - Governor keeping a copy -
