Panopticon Bill VI Requiem

Sect. V VI intitled Requiem Superannuation Annuities.

Art. 1. Any Grant of an Annuity made by the Governor
of any Penitentiary Prison in consideration
of a contribution saved out of the earnings
of such Prisoners may be termed a Requiem and
one being destined as a to form a fixed provision
being a designed as a provision for
the repose and comfort of his old Age may
be named stiled
a Requiem Superannuation Annuity and as aforesaid
may be conceived according to the form marked
[C.1.]: and may on unstamped Paper: and for
[] and [shall have the effect of a Bond] for
the better securing the payment thereof shall have
the effect of a Bond to the amount of ten times
the amount of the annuity thereby granted.

Art. 2. And whereas it may be highly found expedient, that such
Grants, being which in respect of that several consideration-moneys will be grounded
on the produce of annual savings, should be annually made And
Whereas if the same were b upon the footing of other like Deeds
to be charged with stamp-duties, portions of the respective consideration-monies
and thence of the respective Annuities to the amount
of an eighth, a sixth, a fourth or some still larger part would
in the several instances be thereby aborted And Whereas securities
for the like Annuities when granted on behalf of certain Securities
are by a statute of the last Session Chapter 54th, Section 4th
exempted from such charge Be it enacted that the paper, parchment
or other material on which any such Grant as aforesaid comes to be executed
need not be stampt

but in use of conviction of felony afterwards committed by the
Annuitants, and conviction there upon shall cease
