Relation the universal
instrument

Relation is the grand instrument of art and
science

In the relation of which has place between that which is sought or say
desired to be known

Of all art and science.
Grand instrument
relation: relation of
unknown and sought,
to known

In the relation which is borne by that which is
already known to that which is desired to be known
or say which is say in one word is sought may
be seen the means by which the ideas that belong
to this branch of the field of art and science are lodged
in the mind.

Since this will be
in every part of
this work.

In every succeeding part of this the present work this truth
will become apparent .. See below § where application is
made of it to arithmetic and algebra, and § where application
is made of it to geometry
