Radicalism not dangerous V. Dangers real source
(1) § not lower but higher dangerous
§.2. Position to power
§ 1. Men in power
Man and beast
In a dispute between a man and his man and horse says an
observation that has every now and then been made, it
is the man that is almost always in the wrong. More
especially if the horse be not his own (for then there is
some check to cruelty) but only under his care
not his own property, for in that case pecuniary interest
will may afford some check to cruelty: and if this be true
to a certain degree in case of the horse in a still greater
degree will it be in the case of the less noble interesting and spirited
mount, the ox, as now the ass.
