A more compleat demonstration and not be desired
than those who wish for pr radical reform may see
in it of the rustiness imperfection of the Constitution, of the immorality
of the ruling few — at all times of their disregard for justice of
their disregard for the welfare of the subject many, of their
disregard for religion, and of the hypocrisy with which
their professions of regard for it have been accompanied.

On condition of finding a ruffian a hired assassin who for him
is content to hazard his life in the endeavour to kill
either such an assassin or himself, is another man who
has given him no offence, a man who has no right to
it and is conscious of having no right to it may acquire
an estate to any magnitude. Until the act which passed
t'other day for the abolition of it, this such was a part of
the two, such was the extent of the law of real property,
such was the state of Judicial procedure: And this was
by Common Law: such then as to the points in question was the state condition and character
of the Common Law

Now then of approving as I do of the conduct of
men in power so far as concerns the abolition of this point
of law, what must have been my opinion of their
conduct in respect relation to those same points down to that time?
What is it that Where is the abomination the existence of which
they are not prepared to regard either with complacency if or with
indifference — they who for desire to that manner could suffer
an abomination such as that so desired as point of the law?

A system which without any reclamation on the part
of those best acquainted with it could contain an abomination
such as that, what are the other abominations which
it may not with reason be expected be still to offer to
view were the best eyes disposed to look at them? Yet
it is with abominations such as those contained in it, that, by the
unanimous
unanimous voice of
all those who f behold
their own profit in the
abuses of it, this system
has all along been
and stated the
perfection of reason, and
so declared and certified.
