Hi Ben. Thank you for your transcript of JB/002/102/001. Yes, this is rather a tricky page! The handwriting is nice but the layout is quite complicated. We do not have strict guidelines for transcribing things in tables – but we usually try to tag each cell/section as separate paragraphs. I have corrected this page a little by adding a few paragraph and line break tags. But on the whole, your transcript was very good. I have left this page unlocked – but feel free to move on to another page on your next attempt! If you are looking for a new page to transcribe, these two links might help. This page links to Bentham’s earliest writings, where his handwriting tends to be neater: http://www.transcribe-bentham.da.ulcc.ac.uk/td/1770-1789 This page lists all the manuscript pages which are yet to be transcribed by anyone: http://www.transcribe-bentham.da.ulcc.ac.uk/td/Category:Untranscribed_Manuscripts . If you have any questions, let me know. Thanks again for taking part and we hope to hear from you again soon!
Hi Ben! Welcome to the Transcribe Bentham project and thank you for your first transcript of JB/008/005/001. This was an excellent effort and the text you transcribed was very accurate for the most part. We have made a few small changes to your transcript, which can be viewed at [1]. One thing to be aware of with regards to the tagging is that you need to include a ‘line break’ tag at the end of every line. If you have any questions, please feel free to reply to this message and we will do our best to help. Thanks again and we look forward to receiving more of your transcripts in the future!
