§ Wrongful aspersion
In a case of wrongful aspersion committed through the medium
of a newspaper there are or may be four or five four six descriptions of persons
whose interests may in respect or responsibility be are at stake: viz. 1. The
or other Conductor party aspersed. 2. The
representatives of the party aspersed after his death:
3. The Printer or other Conductor. 4. The Representatives
of the Printer or other Conductor: 5. The Communicator
of the aspersive paper: 6. the Representatives of the such
Communicator.
The party aspersed may either be del>of blameless
(in which case the aspersed Communicator will mostly though not necessarily most commonly
have been the asperse being been blamable or blameable, the
aspersion being blame in which case the communicator aspersion
will most though not necessarily most commonly have been blameless.
1. Let the party exposed aspersed be supposed blameless and
the communicator blamable, in such a case in
the order of favour, he whose who is entitled to most favour
being first mentioned, the above parties will stand as
follows: viz. 1. The party aspersed. 2. The representatives
of the party aspersed. 3. The representatives
of the party Printer or other Conductor. The Printer
or other Conductor representatives of the Communicator
5. The Printer or other Conductor. 6. The Communicator
himself.
