Help:Editing pages

As a user of Transcribe Bentham, you will generally be transcribing manuscripts by editing pages that contain those manuscripts.

The process you will follow to do this includes:

• Clicking 'Edit' in the toolbar of the chosen manuscript to begin transcribing.

• Typing your transcription in the transcription box opposite.

• Using the toolbar above the transcription box to add markup to your transcription: there are tips on using this toolbar in the video on this page.

• Previewing your transcription by clicking 'Show Preview' below the transcription box. Saving your transcription, even if it is incomplete, by clicking 'Save Page' below the transcription box.
