<p>A Chaplain (being a Clergyman of the Church<lb/>of England) shall be provided at the <sic>expence</sic> of the<lb/>said Jeremy Bentham his Heirs Executors Administrators<lb/> or Assigns, who in person or by his occasional<lb/> and sufficient Deputy shall be constantly living in<lb/>the midst of the said Convicts or Prisoners, and Keeping<lb/> the whole Assemblage of them under his Eye.</p>

<p>So in the like manner a Surgeon of competent Skill<lb/> and experience shall be provided under whose Care a<lb/> sufficient Quantity of all proper Medicine shall be<lb/>Kept in hand and ready to be administered upon every<lb/> necessary occasion.</p>

<p>A sufficient number of competent Schoolmasters<lb/>shall also in like manner be provided and Kept, by<lb/> whom Instruction shall be administered on every Sunday<lb/> at least during the Intervals of Meals and Divine<lb/> Service, in Reading writing and Arithmetic, to as<lb/> many of such Convicts or Prisoners as shall be found<lb/> to stand in need thereof.</p>
