Sir,
By a letter from Mr Bowring which
tho' dated Paris the 1st inst, I have but just
received, he desires me to direct to him at
Marseilles any letters that are sent from
hence between this & the 12th inst: hence, though
in the same letter he gives me reason to expect
another from Paris before his departure
from thence, I can not look upon myself as
warranted in making use of the envelope of
the Duke of Orleans for any ulterior packet. Meantime
I have not only been reserving a few Newspapers,
but in expectation of one more through
the Duke of Orleans I have bought 11 copies of
Hone's new Caricature publication called "A Slap
at Slop", thinking that perhaps one of them
might afford some little amusement to his Royal
