Quere shall this be the beginning?

The spirit of reform is abroad! thus as has
echoed from all quarters. The spirit of reform is abroad! Trus
in a certain sense: but before we can give a decided answer to
these propositions certain distinctions there are which present themselves
to our view as absolutely and indispensably necessary.
Thorough reformers, half-reformers—pseudo-reformers. By
one or other of these appellations may every advocate of reform reformers soever and included
be distinguished and designated and distinguished
.

2.
1. Thorough-Reformers

1. Thorough and sincere Reformers. Of these the description is altogether
simple. The ends pursued by the friends of our System of Procedure
with the Judiciary employed in making application of it, stand in
diametrical opposition to the ends of justice: by the pursuit of their
illegitimate ends. The ends to which every professed principle and every proposed
component proposed by a thorough and sincere reformist tends
are the ends of justice — those ends to which the actual ends of
judicature are in a state of such unchangeable opposition.
By the f creation and preservation of the actual existing system of procedure
with its judiciary sacrifice is on every each occasion made of the interests
of all to the interests of those the those predatory and oppressing ruling
few: By them the thorough and sincere reformers no sacrifice
of any interest otherwise than under the mandate of misrule sacrifice
is made, but if on any occasion a sacrifice must be made — it
is the sacrifice of the interests of the few to the great interests of the vast many
a sacrifice of the lesser to the greater interest.

So much for the thorough and sincere reformist.
