<p>I have been informed by a captain who shot one,<lb/> | |||
that it was the best pork in the Country, which<lb/> | |||
is easily accounted for by their living wholly on<lb/> | |||
vegetable food, whilst the Tame Swine live entirely<lb/> | |||
on Beef. One day whilst at Ensanada, I went<lb/> | |||
about a league from the Town to see the Bed of Marine<lb/> | |||
Shells, which are burnt for lime; it is situated<lb/> | |||
on the edge of the high ground, which forms<lb/> | |||
a segment of a circle from Ensanada to Buenos<lb/> | |||
Ayres. We had to go about half the distance through<lb/> | |||
what they call a Banyone, which is a <sic>compleat</sic> | |||
Bog. We had considerable difficulty in getting<lb/> | |||
through, although there has been comparatively<lb/> | |||
no rain for three months. I have much to regret<lb/> | |||
my want of Chymical and Botanical knowledge:<lb/> | |||

when the inhabitants from having had good educations<lb/> | |||

support an enlightened government. Public Education<lb/> | |||
by Lancasterian Schools are generally established,<lb/> | |||

I have been informed by a captain who shot one,
that it was the best pork in the Country, which
is easily accounted for by their living wholly on
vegetable food, whilst the Tame Swine live entirely
on Beef. One day whilst at Ensanada, I went
about a league from the Town to see the Bed of Marine
Shells, which are burnt for lime; it is situated
on the edge of the high ground, which forms
a segment of a circle from Ensanada to Buenos
Ayres. We had to go about half the distance through
what they call a Banyone, which is a compleat
