pleasure in hearing Mr. Bowring propose the purchase
of a small quick sailing Vessel, I trust to be manned
with Englishmen; this wd. be of great use to you in
conveying information, & wd. form the commencement of
the Navy, as she is said to be well armed & in good condition.
I was also much gratified in hearing some
more considerable subscriptions announced from the
Provincial Committees.

The Greeks appear to meet with x x x .
very general sympathy here, & if they will only act
with common prudence & integrity their cause is irrevocably
gained, & shortly after the taking of Patras
they may expect to be recognized, by at least one
regular Government which will speedily bring abt.
some declaration from another.

I have been so occupied with this confounded
business of mine that I have really had no time to
wait upon your brother, but I expect to be able to do so
on Sunday. I put your letter to the Marquis of Tavistock
who is out of Town into the Post Office. I sincerely trust that your health
is good, I have not time to add more but shall write again shortly. I remain JasH.B
