Dear Sir/

I should have already answered your Kind note,
dated the 4th of June, if I had seen it sooner
than yesterday (Tuesday) at a late hour of
the evening —

I have some idea, but a one, of a Deputy
in our Cortes alluding to some rule suggested by,
and established in conformity to your Doctrines;
but I cannot recollect, either his name, or the
subject. I rather think it was a remark
he made, and it sees to me, that the subject
turned upon the internal police of the Cortes.

The thanks to you, Sir, were votes by acclamation.
I have seen in the Diario of the Cortes
a complete account of the session, when
such thanks were voted, but it does not appear
there, that any Deputies had spoken on the subject,
but those of whom mention has been
made in the Astro of Lusitania.

Mr Carvalho does not understand English; but
I rather think your letter to him should be
in your native language which he should caused
to be translated —

I remain, dear Sir,
Your most obliged

J B Rocha
