CERTAINTY. EVIDENCE. Quaker

To say that it is not safe to admitt a Quaker to
give evidence in a capital criminal case answers, is to
say, that in Pensylvania the security of the
under capital criminal accusations is not as great as any
where also, contrary to the known truth of the Fact.

To prevent frauds, a Certificate, if thought necessary
may be required from a Quaker congregation, of the
Witnesse's being of that persuasion.

Either all persons is utterly unworthy of credit from <add>who haves been of that persuasion</add>
are for that single reason utterly unworthy of all credit,
or the very compliance which is exacted ins necessary
to give them credit competency, is the very circumstance which if it
has any effect, has that of lessening their credibility
