Suits. In regard to the communication necessary to
have place between the Judge on the one part, and the
several necessary actors on the Judicial Theatre, when
at a distance from it, on the other part more particularly
on the Defendant's side, the principal difficulties
capable of having place seem to be as follows. may be thus enumerated.

1 Defendant responsible
but residence unknown.

1. The individual a party on the Defendant's side.
2. Defendants pecuniarily responsible, but the actual
place of his residence unknown to Applicant and
thence to Judge.

2 Defendant not responsible
& residence unknown

2. Defendant not pecuniarily responsible, and the
place where he is unknown as above.

3 Defendant responsible
in a travelling state

3. The Defendant known or supposed pecuniarily responsible to be in a
travelling state, as above. But a habitation in a
known place, known or supposed to be still in his
occupation, or in that of some Member of his family.

4 Defendant not responsible
in a travelling state

4. The Defendant not pecuniarily responsible, known
