EQUITY & COMMON LAW.

Here then is 990 grains of satisfaction lost to
the society at large, in my person. — 990
To ballance this, we will suppose (what is
natural) that you should have got <add>offered </add> executed
your contract with the stranger.

By this you will have gained for the difference
between the market-price & the price you
received of him - 500

The 10£ put for the least probable sum sufficient
to determine you to undertake the trouble of the exchange of your house
for money you would have got from me
as well as for him; so that it is not to
be taken into the account — 000

The stranger will gave gained for his least
determinable from — 10

Here then is 510 grains there is gained to the
society at large in your person &
the strangers by others — 510

Subtract this from the 990 grains lost
in my person - there remains
Left to the Society by the Ballance
of the whole account 480.

Whereas had you performed your agreement with
me I should have had — 2000
And you for your least determinative him — 10
2000

N.B. In order to make this case right, the
stranger must left out of the supposition
& a new principle must be had recourse to
to prove the utility of a specific Device for
