Defensive Rebellion, what Defensive Rebellion is where a man
with force and in conspiracy with others maintains or endeavours to maintain himself
in disobedience to the will of the Sovereign
as declared in the Legislative or executive part of his administration,
in any particular instance on any particular occasion,
but without endeavouring purposing to deprive the
sovereign of any par branch of his authority: as if
a man conspiring with others to maintain themselves
in the non-payment of a particular tax, assault
and drive away the collectors
