XXIII

4. J.1.c.4.Whom If Any person who shall contract for or deliver or cause to be delivered any Beer
or Ale, to one who keeps an Alehouse without license
(so much as shall appear necessary for the use of his
household only excepted, shall forfeit at the rate of
6'- 8 a Barrel; half to the poor and half to the Informer;
[recoverable by action of Debt, Information, Indictment or Presentiment] Omitt [before two Justices]

Recognizance - additional penalty. For breaking a recognizance the penalty would seem
He who is adjudged to have broken his recognizance shall
26.G.2.c.31.f.7,8,11 be sentenced, besides paying the penalty thereof, A be disabled
by judgment to sell Ale,Beer, Cider, Perry, & or
spiritous or vinous liquors, [or Wines foreign or home-made]
as well as to keep any kind of Public House for the
space of three years; all licenses whatsoever notwithstanding.
