Besides the propensity which they acquire from their Character and presents; Divines have an
[obvious] Interest in propagating that despondency and ill opinion of the times: For the neglect,
to say no more, of their controversies, is a matter which is visible: they behave therefore, to
make the most of the Vice that there is, Maxims of Utility x Law of Nature Of such importance is a good right name to a thing to keep alive in the mind the true Idea of it's nature, & prevent the imagination from getting hold of running away with it & propagating confusion. v.
