1 Support, and protection, what
Impediments are either physical or moral.
Physical oppose the endeavour by without influencing
the will, for instance by opposing a physical resistance
to the exercise of the physical faculties. The removing or endeavouring to remove such impediments is stiled support. Moral
oppose the endeavour by influencing the will: which
they can only do by motives: which commonly in such a case
are commonly of the co-ercive kind. The endeavour
to remove Impediments of this kind consist in the
