But though they intended a part only
of the mischief, they reaped the full benefit of the
whole. That their own fortunes should not have been even benefited
by the revolution can scarce be doubted is
difficult to suppose. That Lord Pigot was impaired
by it, and that the fortune which
devolved upon his representatives was thereby
lessened by it, it is impossible to doubt. But
as Lord Pigot was dead his representatives had no remedy there was no redress
for his representatives.
