In another case you seek the same end in a less
direct way, and namely by making attack on the adversary the reformist, and then as it were by creating a diversion.

The name word which on this occasion you look
out for is a word by which, along with some things arrangement which
are good — so good as to be even necessary — necessary to the
very existence of society, contains other designates and thus
as it were covers others that are mischievous. As often

any of the mischievous arrangements by which this word can
be employed to designate, you speak of him as condemn
if including in his condemnation all including without
distinction all the arrangements which it can be employed
to designate. you speak of out of the whole assemblage of the
arrangements which it is employed to designate, you compose
a person sort of fictitious personage, which personage
being under generally seen and understood to do more good than not to do so much harm as good
harm is as such a general object of attachment and respect
and you speak of him as being an enemy to that this so justly dear and delightful personage.
