And Whereas after a year's experience<lb/><note>3<lb/>Power to the Governor<lb/>to give annual <hi rend="underline">Good</hi>-<lb/>-<hi rend="underline">behaviour Certificates</hi><lb/>to Metasylum-men --</note><lb/>of the conduct of a quondam Penitentiary Prisoner<lb/>when employed at large in the Metasylum any such<lb/>certificate as aforesaid would naturally operate with<lb/>increased force, and by the presumption it would afford,<lb/>of the good behaviour in any other service would in<lb/>like manner operate to the extension of his field of option<lb/>and to the consequent alleviation of the burthen of his<lb/>dependence And Whereas the strength of such<lb/>presumption would naturally increase with every repetition<lb/>or renewal which after a fresh interval of experience<lb/>could be made of such Certificate Be it enacted<lb/>that at the expiration of every year of a Metasylum<lb/>man or woman's service in the Metasylum, or at any<lb/>other times when occasion may require, the Governor<lb/>may grant to him or her a <hi rend="underline">Certificate</hi> of <hi rend="underline">Good-behaviour</hi><lb/>therein: which Certificate may be according to<lb/>the Form marked [E. 2.] subject to such ampliations,<lb/>restrictions or alterations as the case may appear to require:<lb/>and as far as truth will warrant he is hereby instructed &<lb/>exhorted to do so.</p> | |||
