SS4 Prior intrigues — Tergiversation of Mr Rose

my receipt of the above gracious letter from Mr
Rose) and, the same dayThe letter, either on the day of the date of it or the next, upon my
meeting with Mr Long, in one of our usual and
almost only places of meeting - the passages, was put by
myself into his hands open, for the purpose of its being
forwarded, as he thereupon assured me it should
be, instantaneously, by himself, to Mr Rose, to whose
chamber he was in full march.

From this time till the time <add>month of July</add> when the CommitteeAs to my letter of the 6th July (1798) the fruit
of it was the following note underneath which being sub I find
of Finance, to which Mr Rose's letter of February that same day, through and which consequently must
had recommended me, came to publish their Report have followed it with that promptitude which I
neither Mr Rose, nor his Honourable colleague experienced have already mentioned as having been to the extent
any<add>further</add> trouble from me. On the 6th of July, of my experience the property of Mr Roses motions,
matters were ripe, for putting to the test the sincerity as often as his intentions have happened to be sincere
of the Honourable Gentleman, which I accordingly
by the endeavoured to do by the following letter

B.4 Mr Rose to Mr Bentham - 6 July 1798.

Mr Rose presents his compliments to Mr Bentham
as the Draft of his intended contract with the
Treasury is to be printed he submits to him whether
it is worth while to have it copied as it is extremely
long, otherwise Mr Rose will send it with pleasure.-
if the plan is found capable of being carried into
execution it will afford Mr Rose great satisfaction.
