lands, in a state of private ownership:- the same that
have already been mentioned, and that will be brought
to view in detail, under the name of alnds the property
of M<hi rend="superscript">r Wise</hi>.
To obtain the requisite fulfill the conditions requisite for the carrying
the through Parliament the Bill, whensoever brought in, for the division
and enclosure appropriation of Tothill Fields, the consents of the
parties interested viz: the Dean & Chapter of Westminster,
as Lords of the , Franchise, together with that of the
parishioners of inhabitants of the neighbourhood,
in the character of possessors or claimants
of certain rights of common, was necessary, or at
least might continually be necessary, to be obtained.
Among these the foremost not only in rank and eminence
but in respect of point of magnitude of adjacent property
were stood, beyond all comparison, Earl Grosvenor in respect
of property in possession, and his eldest son and
heir apparent, Ld Viscount Belgrave, in respect not
only in respect of property in expectancy, but in respect of actual residence.
For, the longest side of the purchased estate in question — <add> estate in my hands the purchased</add> the Salisbury Estate — is bounded contiguous
all along throughout its longest boundary line, contiguous to the House,
the Garden, and the then new-made pleasure ground of the in the
occupation of Ld Belgrave. Were Had the Penitenti windows
of the Penitentiary House contained windows, erected
within a foot of the adjacent windows of that his Lordship's mansion House,
the inconvenience would have been without any remedy,
that, proprio jure, could have been applied to it
by Ld Belgrave.
