Formal transmission, of M<hi rend="superscript">r Youngs Report on Rise of prices.</hi>
Queen's Square Place, 20 June 1800
By way of appending, to my Memorial of yesterday's
date, (a) I take the liberty of inclosing a Report made by Mr
With A Young's Rise
of price Reports
(a) See Notes
Arthur Young, Secretary of the Board of Agriculture, relative
to the rise, in the prices of provisions so; being the basis,
on which the calculation on that subject, in my said Memorial,
was grounded. I could think of no other authority
so well adapted to the settling of my own opinion, on which
seemed to present a fairer prospect of proving satisfactory to
their Lordships : but, wishing for nothing beyond the sum
barely sufficient for to the purchaseing necessaries to the amount
originally intended, I would beg it may be understood, that,
if, from any more satisfactory source of information, the allowance,
requested on the above ground, should appear to be more
than adequate, confiding, as I do, no less in the judgement
than in the equity of the Lords Commissioners, <hi rend="superscript">()</hi> I am content
to submit to any abatement, which it may be their
Lordship's pleasure to prescribe. (b c)
