<p> Memorandum this 2<hi rend="superscript">nd</hi> April 1800 That it is agreed Between <lb/> Jeremy Bentham Esq<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> and John Daly<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> as follows viz<lb/>The said Jeremy Bentham hereby agrees to sell unto the said <lb/> John Daly who doth agree to purchase of him<lb/> All that Freehold and Copyhold Estate at & near <lb/>Pyenest Green in the Parish of Waltham Holy Cross in <lb/> Essex which is on lease to James Potts Esq<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> and his <lb/> Under Tenants & Webb and part of which is <lb/> also let to James Hill and the whole is now <sic>Lett</sic><lb/> at about £220 a Year And the said John Daly agrees <lb/>to pay down £1000 within six weeks from this Day or <lb/>sooner on having a Good Title made thereto and to pay <lb/>the further sum of £4000 to the said Jeremy Bentham <lb/> within one year from this Day and lawful Interest for <lb/> the same but if required to pay £1000 more within<lb/> 6 months or forfeit £1000 and the said Jeremy Bentham <lb/>agrees to make a Good Title at his <sic>Expence</sic> and to clear <lb/> the Estate from all <sic>Incumbrances</sic> up to Lady Day last <lb/>from which time the said John Daly is to receive the <lb/> Rents & he is to be at all the <sic>Expence</sic> of the Conveyance <lb/>As Witness our hands.</p> | |||
