Subject of it, the first of four requisitions contained in Mr Chief Inspectors
first paragraph, stiled by him Query No 1: in a paragraph
standing by itself and not ref bearing reference to any particular

In and by his hand Query No 1, on the occasion
of this said Accountant Account, and by virtue of his office
office as Chief Inspector appointed by his Majesty's Commissioners of the Audit Office

to make four several requisitions: of every one of all which it is
hereby charged by the Accountant that it was and is they are not used and unnecess

not improper and vexatious: and improper: viz, the first as being unnecessary
and useless and these unnecessary reactions:
the three others as being not only unnecessary and vexatious but irrelevant
and in a still higher degree - vexatious.

<add> being viz.</add> the warrant dated 11th June of 1794, by which was
granted to this Accountant the sum of £2,000, bein being the
sum and only sum on which the authority of the Board to call
upon this Accountant for an Account was and is grounded,
the purpose of the grant as therein specified is "to
"enable him to make such preparation as may be
"necessary for the custody and care of the convicts proposed
to be confined in the Penitentiary intended to be
erected at Battersea Rise, or such other piece or pieces
"of ground as may be appropriated for that purpose"...
