Metaphisics the Road to
The terms relating to the operations of the mind but
be first understood, such as Ideas, Simple & Complex,
Abstractions &c such as these must be understood before
any subject can be considered metaphisically, a person
unskilled in these matters can never submit to
metaphisical accuracy. The business then is
to lead the learner on to what is usefull in
Locke & Hartley before he began to study any subject
metaphisically this should be the groundwork of
learning instead of and its object is to teach
how to study, when then should it be learned
but before one studies. A work of this kind seems to be most wanting.

J.B. has much matter towards such a work it
should prepare the way for others, it might shew
the importance of Metaphisics, but as the it is for
a first work, it must be written in a familiar style
many examples, these examples might be
contrived so as to take away from the digress
any long disputed topics, would serve as examples of
the use of Metaph: thus might one engagement
on this Part.
